TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants (TSFR), a Michigan-based family-owned restaurant group with an expansive portfolio of casual, quick service and family dining restaurants throughout the state, will open the first Michigan MOD Pizza restaurant on Monday, June 22, in Livonia. TSFR Brand Leader of MOD Pizza Jake Schostak made the announcement.
In celebration of the brand’s official launch in Michigan, TSFR and MOD Pizza will host an all-day “Pay What You Want” fundraiser starting at 11 a.m. and running through dinner service at its Livonia restaurant, located at 13229 Middlebelt Road. During the “Pay What You Want” day, guests will be able to pay an amount of their choosing for their meal, with all proceeds benefiting the Livonia Public Schools Education Foundation to aid the organization on its mission to provide financial support to the district for innovative programs and service. In addition to the fundraiser, Detroit Piston’s mascot, Hooper, will be on-site to help the “MOD Squad” kickoff its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony, and MOD Pizza will be hosting raffles throughout the day with prizes to include MOD Pizza merchandise, two bicycles and a chance to win a free pizza per week for a year.
“MOD Pizza is the next evolution of the TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants brand and we are proud to open our first location right here in our hometown,” said Schostak. “As a leader in the restaurant industry, we are committed to bringing unique and innovative dining options to Michigan, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with local residents and further engaging with the local community.”

Based in Seattle, MOD’s individual artisan-style pizzas are made on demand, using organic fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces, including MOD red sauce and MOD white sauce. As the company that launched the fast-casual pizza niche, guests can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of more than 30 fresh-featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. Each pizza is hand-cooked in an 800 degree oven in five minutes or less and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer. MOD also serves local draft beers, wine, handspun milkshakes, and house-made lemonades and iced teas.
In 2014, TSFR announced plans to bring 25 MOD Pizza restaurants to Michigan during the next five years. A second MOD Pizza location is underway in Northville, Mich. For more information on MOD Pizza, visit www.teamschostak.com.
