The Destination is Now- Meditation

I met with a client recently who was interested in meditation.  She explained that she had already done “the work” of exploring and accepting the past, understanding her faith, family and gene pool.  In all respects, she was at the point of “ok, now what?”  She had reached a place in life where there were no haunts from the past, acceptance of what is, and maybe just anticipating the ups and downs of the future.  This was familiar to me, as I have spent much time trying to figure out this life through knowledge in relationships, family history, travel, faith, fitness, and health.  Personal growth and transformation has been important to me since my teen years.  Gratefully, my path lead to yoga and meditation- where I found the resting place.  If we could all just quiet down this mind, restore the body, the spirit would follow!  You can enter a wonderful space- empty of the chatter and clutter of our lives, a space between the thoughts.  Working together on yoga poses, breathing, pratyahara (becoming an observer of the senses), concentration, and meditation, she will find that “now” is the destination.  Being in the present moment- it’s the only place we can Be.
