Westbrook Salon Expands Salon, at new location in Canton Crossings

CANTON, MI- Westbrook Salon, located in the Canton Crossings plaza, is relocating to a larger space within the plaza later this summer. Patricia Baker, who has owned Westbrook salon for almost 18 years, is excited to put her signature on the design of the new salon. The new space will be functional and visually appealing to her customers and staff.

Baker started in the hair industry from the ground up after years in the corporate world. She was looking for a business in which she could express her creative side. The Canton community was growing and seemed like a great location for a new salon. In July 1996, fulfilling her dream, Baker opened Westbrook Salon.

Baker thoroughly enjoys the rewards of making others feel special. “It’s all about giving back to our customers, and treating clients the way I would want to be treated,” says Baker

Westbrook Salon currently has 23 licensed stylists on staff, including a licensed nail technician. Plans for the new salon include adding an aesthetician for facials, as well as full body waxing, and eyelash extension services. The new space promises to be functional, with an industrial chic flare and Patricia Baker’s creative attention to detail.

Stylists at Westbrook Salon are required to keep educated on the latest techniques and trends by attending workshops. In fact, educators quite often come directly to the salon to teach. Baker is an educator for Kemon USA, and a practitioner for the state of Michigan.

Baker also believes it’s essential to pass education on to the client. “We offer to help our clients if they are having difficulty styling their hair. We tell them to bring in what they would use at home, and then they style half their hair here in the salon. We assess what they are doing and give them suggestions on how to do it more effectively,” says Baker.

Westbrook’s goal is to give the customer an experience they will want to come back for again and again. The stylists work with the clients to choose a color and style that compliments their face shape, skin tone, and lifestyle.

Baker’s daughter Rebecca works the front desk of the salon, and brother Frank assists behind the scenes. “I truly feel blessed and take nothing for granted. I look forward to giving back to my customers and the Canton community with the new Westbrook Salon,” says Baker.
