Westland Man Agrees to Plea Deal in Plymouth Twp. Man's Death
Andrew Nutt, 22, faces at least 27 years in prison after pleading guilty in connection with last year's killing of Kenneth LaBita, 76.

A Westland man agreed to a plea deal Thursday in connection with the killing of a 76-year-old Plymouth Township man last year.
The deal required Andrew J. Nutt, 22, to plead guilty to second-degree murder and to using a gun during a felony in order to have other charges—including a count of first-degree murder—dropped, according to a HometownLife report. Under the terms, Nutt faces 25 to 60 years in prison for the second-degree murder count and two years for the gun count, the report stated.
His sentencing is March 13, the report added.

Nutt was charged in connection with the shooting death of Kenneth LaBita, who was found shot in the back of his head in his house Oct. 27, the report stated. Earlier, Nutt’s accomplice pleaded guilty to a charges of accessory after the fact and larceny of firearms, the report added.
