Words Hurled in Anger in Traffic Altercation

Driver in Plymouth Township allegedly called motorist by a racial slur and told her to "get out of here."

Charges won’t be filed against a pair who allegedly traded profanity and racial slurs in a recent argument in traffic, Plymouth Township police said.

It’s unclear exactly what precipitated the argument in the vicinity of Beck and North Territorial on Oct. 16, according to Hometownlife.com, but what is known is that a woman who originally asked police to file ethnic intimidation charges against another motorist has withdrawn her complaint.

According to her report, she was turning from Braeburn Lane onto Latheron Drive when a man in front of her stopped his car in front of her, called her the “n-word” and then told her to “get out of here.”

The woman’s 6-year-old son was in the vehicle with her.

The other driver tells a different story. He said he hurled the racial slur after she told him to “kiss my ass.”

Later, the woman said she didn’t want to press charges, but wanted police to talk to the other driver about his language. They did, he said he regretted using the slur and said he would respond differently in the future.
