500,000 Child Porn Images in Rochester Hills Raid: Feds

Many of the images found in the home of William Snody depicted children under the age of 12, the FBI said.

A Rochester Hills was arrested Thursday on federal child pornography charges after authorities found nearly 500,000 explicit images in a raid on his home.

According to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court, William Snody, 62, admitted to authorities that he had collected child pornography for about 15 years.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation said in the affidavit it seized a large number of electronic devices that Snody allegedly used to access, download and view child pornography, and that Snody had a set of 30 Blu-Ray DVDs next to his computer featuring explicit videos and pictures of children.

Snody, who was expected to appear in court Friday afternoon, reportedly organized and categorized his collection by “series name, age and nationality,” the FBI said.

Many of the images featured children under the age of 12.

Snody’s arrest comes on the heels of two other federal child pornography cases in Oakland County.

Virgil Napier Jr., of Waterford Township, was charged Monday after the FBI raided his home and turned up multiple website links to sexually explicit images, some depicting children in sex acts, the FBI said in a court filing in U.S. District Court this week.

Colin and Anngela Boyle were charged with producing, distributing, receiving and possessing child pornograpy after federal authorities raided thier White Lake home on Nov. 10. In that case, Anngela Boyle allegedly sent the explicit photos and videos of children to her husband because such images were “the only thing that sexually excited [him],” FBI agent David Kotal wrote in an affidavit filed with the criminal complaint against the two.
