Adams Cheers 'This Is Our Year,' Wins Weekend Meet

For 12 seniors who have been cheering together since seventh grade, this is the year.

Coached by Courtney Kezlarian and Wendy Rocha, the cheerleaders are operating this year under the theme "This Is Our Year." 

Last weekend, they proved it.

The Adams varsity cheer team took first place at Saturday's CCCAM Invitational at , edging out both Stoney Creek and — both of which have state championship titles.

The Highlanders won the first two rounds and placed third in the final round, which led to a score of 800.0144 to win the competition.

According to Division I rankings announced this week by the Competitive Cheer coaches and officials, Rochester is ranked No. 1; Adams is ranked No. 6 and Stoney Creek is ranked No. 7 in the state.

All three teams cheer tonight in an OAA League Meet at Troy Athens High School.
