Lillie, a senior captain of the Adams High School wrestling team, joined teammates Tuesday night at Cold Stone Creamery in Rochester Hills, where owner Todd Frerichs offered the team an hour's worth of all-you-can-eat free ice cream to celebrate Fat Tuesday — and the end of their season.

"This sport takes a lot of discipline, and it says a lot about the kids' mental discipline for them to stick to their weight all season," Holtz said. "They can't have the desserts their mom made. It says a lot about their integrity, that they can do that for the team."

Three of the Adams wrestlers are advancing to the state finals next weekend: Justin Schofield (103), Alex Potoniec (125) and Jack Addy (145).
