Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library hosts a tour of the GM Heritage Center

Classic cars, concept cars, custom cars, creative cars, cool cars and trucks.  They are all on display at the GM Heritage Center in Sterling Heights, MI, a historical treasure accessible only to private tour groups.  “The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library has arranged for a 2-hour tour of these amazing vehicles,” according to Event Chairman and Friends Vice President Ron Meegan.  The tour, a fund-raiser for the Library, will begin at 9:00 a.m. on May 8.  Reservations are $20, and all proceeds are used to fund Library programs.

The GM Heritage Center showcases vehicles that have made General Motors a leader in the automotive industry for over 100 years.  The “Heritage Collection” is made up of approximately 600 cars and trucks, which are rotated in and out of the facility regularly to allow them all to be appreciated.   “About 200 priceless vehicles and artifacts are on display in the Heritage Center at any given time,” said Meegan.  The GM Heritage Center is located at 6400 Center, Sterling Heights, MI.
