Friday Night Scores: Stoney, Adams, Rochester, Avondale All Fall

Here's a roundup of Friday night football play in Rochester:

Southfield-Lathrup 14, Stoney Creek 7

Quarterback Brandon Arduino rushed for a Cougar touchdown as the first half came to a close to lift his team's spirits at halftime.

The Cougars offense couldn't capitalize off turnovers or convert on crucial fourth down attempts in the second half.

Both teams dropped passes and punts because of the slippery conditions, but in the end the Lathrup Chargers running game was too quick and relentless for the Cougars defense.

Stoney Creek coach Calvin Gross declined comment after the game, but told his players he was "tired of losing."

The Cougars (1-5) have lost five games in a row and play at Farmington (4-1) Friday at 7 p.m. The Cougars will end their season with games against crosstown rivals Rochester and Rochester Adams.

• Lutheran High Northwest 26, Southfield Christian 13.  The Crusaders (4-2) are back to winning after a double overtime loss last Friday night.
