The Quote: “They’re so athletic from every spot on the floor,” Adams head coach John Hall said. “We did the best we could. We had a hard time on the glass tonight.”

The Bottom Line: Adams needed to play perfect basketball to beat Southfield.

The Highlanders' offense wasn’t the problem, it was the defense – specifically defensive rebounding.

“We just didn’t rebound the ball on defense so they kept getting easy putbacks,” Hall said.

Key Stat: Adams shot 1-for-3 from the free throw line as a team.  Southfield made 7 of 14 from the line.

Patrick Owenu scored 18 points and Landon Atterberry scored 16 points for the Bluejays.

Andrew Hammett scored 14 points with a 3-pointer and shot 1-for-2 from the line.

James Berger scored six points on two 3-pointers.

Bracketology: Southfield plays the winner of Chippewa Valley and East Detroit on March 22 at University of Detroit Mercy in the state quarterfinals.
