Rochester Hills Doctor Faces 17 More Sexual Assault Charges: Sheriff
Officials have said it's one of the worst sexual predator cases they've ever worked on.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — A jailed Rochester Hills doctor is facing 17 more charges in connection with a series of sexual assaults on a 5-year-old girl, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
Oumair Aejaz, 40, was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, three counts of aggravated child sexually abusive activity, three counts of capturing images of an unclothed person and six counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
His next court date is scheduled for Oct. 23. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.

Sheriff's officials said Aejaz taped himself molesting the 5-year-old girl, who is now 6-years-old, between 2023 and 2024. Officials did not release any other details about that incident.
Aejaz was already facing ten felony charges in connection with recording nude women and children for at least the past six years in various areas, including hospitals, homes and a Goldfish Swim School in Rochester, according to officials.

Aejaz, who specialized in internal medicine, used hidden cameras to record children as young as 2-years-old and women of various ages in hospital rooms, changing areas, inside closets, bathrooms and bedrooms, according to officials.
Aejaz had privileges at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc Township and Henry Ford Macomb in Clinton Township, but was not on staff, according to officials.
Investigators believe Aejaz recorded the sexual encounters he had with numerous women that were either sleeping or unconscious and recorded relatives in the bathroom or while changing clothes, according to officials.
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard warned in August the charges were just "the tip of the iceberg" and there could be hundreds more victims, maybe even more victims than disgraced Michigan State University sports doctor Larry Nassar abused.
"As I have said from the beginning, this was going to take a huge amount of work and a
significant amount of time," Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. "Having said that, we will leave no stone unturned to seek justice for every victim. Through this long and painstaking process we have been able to uncover this very large list of additional crimes that have not been charged and we continue to seek the public’s help to identify other potential victims."
Officials said detectives received a tip about Aejaz on Aug. 7 and quickly began to assemble a case against him.
Officers then arrested Aejaz the next day at his home while officers executed a search warrant, according to officials.
During the search, investigators seized six computers, four cellphones and 15 external hard drives, which one alone had 13,000 videos on it, according to officials.
Investigators believe it will take them six months to complete a forensic examination of all the confiscated materials.
Aejaz was initially charged with ten counts, including:
- One count of child sexually abusive activity.
- One count of using a computer to create and or reproduce child sexually abusive material.
- Two counts of capturing/recording children under the age of 18 while nude.
- Two counts of capturing/recording two women over the age of 18 while nude.
- Four counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
He was placed in the Oakland County Jail with a bond set at $2 million.
Aejaz, who came to the U.S. around 2011, is a citizen of India who has been working in the U.S. on a visa, according to the sheriff's office.
Aejaz completed his residency at Detroit Sinai Grace Hospital and then moved to Dawson, Alabama, then returned to Oakland County to continue his practice in internal medicine in 2018, according to the sheriff's office.
Bouchard encouraged anyone who believes they were a victim of Aejaz to contact sheriff’s detectives at OCSOSIU@oakgov.com.
