Man Charged In Fatal Auburn Hills Shooting

Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no further danger to the public.

AUBURN HILLS, MI — A 24-year-old man could spend the rest of his life in prison after a 47-year-old man was fatally shot in Auburn Hills last weekend, according to police.

Officers found Anthony Russell Holcomb, 47, of Auburn Hills, suffering from a gunshot wound Saturday at 8 p.m. inside the Suburban Studio Hotel on Doris Road, police said.

Officials took Holcomb to a nearby hospital, where he died, police said.

Draper cooperated with authorities and was arrested in connection to the shooting after he called police and told them he shot someone, police said.

Investigators determined Draper and Holcomb knew each other and believe some type of altercation sparked the shooting. They also believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no further danger to the public, police said.

Nobody else was involved in the shooting and no other injuries were reported by police.
