OU named 2022 ‘Outreach Partner’ by Engineering Society of Detroit

Award recognizes university's support of the ESD and its outreach efforts

The School of Engineering and Computer Science at Oakland University has been selected by The Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD) to receive the 2022 ESD Outreach Partner of the Year Award.

OU was nominated for this award by the ESD Awards Committee in recognition of the university’s support of the Society and its outreach efforts, specifically the Girls in Engineering Academy.

“We are very proud of our outreach collaboration with ESD to provide education opportunities, prosperity for our communities, and improved quality of life for all,” said Dr. Louay Chamra, dean of the School of Engineering and Computer Science at Oakland University.

The award will be presented during the ESD Annual Dinner on Thursday, June 23 at Ford Field in Detroit.
