Rochester Hills Mayor Heads To White House To Talk Infrastructure
Mayor Bryan Barnett was asked to put together a bipartisan team of 15 mayors from across the U.S. to take an in depth look at infrastructure

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett is in D.C. for a visit to the White House on Thursday to discuss the city’s perspective on President Donald Trump’s recently-introduced infrastructure plan
Barnett was asked to put together a bipartisan team of 15 mayors from across the country to take an in depth look at how the $200 billion will impact the country's vast infrastructure needs. He will be meeting with Special Assistant to the President for Infrastructure D.J. Gribbin.
"Advocating for Rochester Hills is one of my most important responsibilities and to be asked to participate in this critical discussion with the decision makers at the White House allows me to uniquely add a Rochester Hills perspective to the proposal,” Barnett said about the visit. "I appreciate the invitation from President Trump and look forward to finding solutions to this massive infrastructure issue which will benefit my city and the greater community."
Currently the President's proposal calls for an 80% match from states and cities while promising to streamline project delivery by reducing regulation, according to the announcement. The proposal also calls for embracing innovation in the way that infrastructure is designed, built and maintained.
