Shelving, Inc. Raises $32,000 for the Capuchin Ministries
100 percent of net proceeds go directly toward the charity

Shelving, Inc., a second-generation, family-owned provider of corporate and consumer shelving and storage solutions, has raised more than $32,000 in net proceeds to benefit the Capuchin Ministries through the company’s sixth annual Bocce with the Brothers event. Shelving, Inc. Vice President of Sales Mike Schodowski made the announcement.
Bocce with the Brothers took place at Villa Penna in Sterling Heights on January 26. The event featured unlimited bocce ball, a buffet dinner, live music, a speed painting performance from Dave Santia, and a live auction with various gift packages—including three of the speed paintings created on-site. Shelving, Inc. covered the entire cost of the event, from dinner and drinks to entertainment and auction items. This allowed for 100 percent of the proceeds to benefit the Capuchin Ministries and their various charitable endeavors—including the Capuchin Soup Kitchens, which provide about 2,000 meals a day to those in need.
“The Capuchin Ministries receive no government funding, making events like Bocce with the Brothers critical to ensure their important mission continues to get fulfilled,” said Schodowski. “As a family-owned company, we’re committed to helping those less fortunate in the communities where we do business, and for over 30 years we’ve supported the Capuchins because of the wonderful services they provide throughout metro Detroit.”

In addition to Bocce with the Brothers, Shelving, Inc. covers 100 percent of the costs for the annual Benefit on the Bay fundraiser, which is held each August to benefit the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Between both events, the company has raised more than $1.35 million for the Capuchins since 1993. Shelving, Inc. also happily donates 10 percent of its annual profits to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen on top of donating storage and shelving solutions to local organizations and nonprofits in need.
