Stoney, Rochester, Adams to Compete Today at Cheer District Competition

Top four teams advance to regional competition next week.

Competitive cheer teams from three Rochester high schools compete today in Lake Orion for a chance to advance to next weekend's regional competition.

Rochester Patch will cover the district competition beginning at 11. , last year's state champion team, took first place last weekend in the Oakland Activities Association Red Division. Other schools include Lake Orion, Royal Oak, Utica Eisenhower, Troy, Troy Athens, Utica, Waterford Kettering and Waterford Mott.

"There are so many good teams — it could be anyone's day," said Stoney Creek coach Tricia Williams, who has coached at the school since it opened in 2002.
