Royal Oak Series of Spiritual Thrillers Released In Kindle Format

The Royal Oak Series of Spiritual Thrillers, set in Royal Oak and written by Royal Oak native Dan Calabrese, has been released for Kindle download via Amazon.com. The series is published by Byron Center, Michigan-based North Star Writers Group.

Calabrese, 45, is a writer for the Detroit News’s Michigan View commentary section, in addition to his role as a reporter for Royal Oak-based DBusiness Magazine and a variety of other publications.

The Royal Oak series of Spiritual Thrillers is a three-part series focused on the experiences of three lifelong friends and Royal Oak residents, who confront the reality of demonic activity when one of them finds himself with the ability to see into the spirit world with the naked eye. A very edgy offering in the realm of Christian fiction, Calabrese explains why he chose to write in the controversial manner that characterizes the books.

“The reality of spiritual darkness, and the things that happen as a result of it, is not family-friendly and cannot be presented as though it is,” Calabrese said. “My decision to use certain kinds of language and graphic descriptions was based on my desire to honestly present this reality, and to trust the reader to deal with it accordingly.”

Throughout the series, Royal Oak residents will recognize many references and allusions to local landmarks, businesses and institutions.
