Bean and Leaf turns over new leaf + comments.

New owners big difference. Wow, Zingerman brew gone, breakfast croissants, bagels, english muffin optional cream cheese, or egg sandwich, Vietnamese Coffee included with a larger coffee and tea menu. Huge berry and nut muffins for only a buck niney eight , assorted pastries, mouse, and cheesecakes   New-shrimp wonton soup, yakatori, yakisoba. Everything reasonably priced Short on help and jammed the day I was there.  Chet in the back was busy with watercolor portraits (formerly at Caribou with snoopy the therapy dog unless he doesn't like you and growls). Good news is that the new owners plan to put seating out front,  No sign yet of another possible new coffee cafe rumored to go in across the street. No sign of mayor, or commissioners. Maybe they're too busy celebrating some new bar opening. I will miss the more central location of Caribou but this new affordable cafe venue is now attracting the same students the Carribou attracted, add they still have Wi-fi.
Noted are some old folks and kids on the sidewalks riding bicycles. I guess the ASSigned swat team is still in training to ticket and drive them into our DUI, jock rocket racing, distracted driver, U turn prone Main. So much for the need of new bicycle racks that surrounding city's have had for years.
City hall still refuses to adjust traffic lights still timed too short for elderly, small children and handicapped. Except for all the vacant retail and the loss of our largest and best art gallery in Ariana's,  all thanks to YOU KNOW WHO and his coterie of greedy sycophantic, non resident bar hungry campaign funding landlords who in turn with the bars control the tax diverting DDDA (first D for damned, Whew!) all in cahoots with a $$ hungry city hall- "Life" (and the death of dreams) still remains "in play and on tap" right here in a RO run by unopposed strawmen for non resident you name its. If you question this just look at the steps of the library and compare that to the new streetscapes and facades paid for by captured taxes to be solely spent downtown.
