CLASSICAL BELLS CONCERT CELEBRATES 30th ANNIVERSARY SEASON
Classical Bells, a premier handbell ensemble from Southeastern Michigan, is celebrating their 30th anniversary season with a concert at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 814 N. Campbell Rd, Royal Oak, Michigan on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 4 o’clock. Tickets are Adults $10, Students $5, Families $25 and Under 12 Free and may be reserved by contacting Bob Martin at 248 557-5176. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Classical Bells is known for bringing music to life with a unique interpretive style they call Ringing in Color™. The 15-member group rings nearly 200 handbells and choir chimes. Each concert features musical selections in a wide variety of genres such as classical, jazz, inspirational, ragtime and swing. This varied programming, combined with sensitive musical interpretation, technical skill, informal choreography, and a dash of humor, provides audiences an opportunity to experience handbells as they never have before. “Handbells are a visual art,” says Darlene Ebersole, the group’s Musical Director. “We want our concerts to be as enjoyable to watch as they are to hear.”
The group has performed throughout the country, and has appeared as featured guests with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Michigan Opera Theater, and Handbell Musicians of American festivals and conferences.
