R.O. 105 liquor establishments in an 11 sq. mile city with 57,000 residents. The highest concentration of the 63 bars is obviously downtown and there are a few more opening. Rumor has it Buffalo Wild wings will open in the Barnes and Noble bldg. Not to mention our Farmers Market has turned into a weekend city run alcohol-fest. Now new to the table is the re-zoning of East Lincoln at Troy Street to make way for a new Brewery to open. Only residents residing within 300 feet of the establishment were notified about the public hearing for the re-zoning even thought it may effect an entire neighborhood. Does Royal Oak really need another Bar/Brewery now encroaching into its neighborhoods? The Public Hearing is Tuesday June 10 at 7:30 at city hall for those neighbors interested. Not that it will make a difference in my opinion. The machine is working and it looks like a done deal.
