Royal Oak Murder Victim ID'd, Suspect to Be Arraigned
Victim had been paroled from prison in January; police aren't disclosing the suspected motive in Royal Oak's second homicide in two weeks.

Royal Oak police on Tuesday identified the victim in a Monday shooting as Kenith Tyran Walter, 28, of Madison Heights.
The man accused of shooting him is expected to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon. Until then police aren’t releasing his name.
The suspect was arrested in the 6100 block of Henry Ruff early Monday afternoon. Investigators from Royal Oak were assisted by Troy Special Investigations Unit, FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and Garden City Police Department.

Police surrounded a house in the 2800 block of Fern early Monday morning after authorities at Beaumont Royal Oak Hospital told them a man had come into the emergency room with multiple gunshot wounds around 1:30 a.m. Walter, who reportedly was shot three times in the torso, died later that morning.

Police aren’t saying anything about the circumstances of the shooting, or the victim.
Both convictions were in Oakland County, the newspaper said.
The shooting was the second homicide in the city this year, and the second in as many weeks.
On Oct. 12 when Theresa Diamos, 50, was allegedly shot by her boyfriend, David Douglas Davis, 49, who faces open murder and other felony charges.
Two homicides in such a short time have unnerved some Royal Oak residents, Mayor Jim Ellison told The Daily Tribune.
“People are saying, ‘What’s happening?’” Ellison said. “But it’s not like we can have police or someone there to stop these kinds of things. We had a suspect in custody within 12 hours of this shooting. When things like this unfortunately do happen, we get on the case, find a suspect and arrest him.”
