Royal Oak Police Respond to Pedestrian-Train Accident

Royal Oak police responded to a report that an Amtrak train hit a pedestrian Monday afternoon.

Royal Oak police think a pedestrian found dead on the northbound Amtrak train tracks at the intersection with East Hudson Monday afternoon committed suicide.

Police were called to the scene of the accident at 2:20 p.m., according to a news release.

Criminal Investigations Division in conjunction with the CN Railroad Police are investigating the incident. No further information will be released until the family is notified.
