Summer officially arrives in Michigan Saturday morning. Where's the best place to play?

The Summer Solstice arrives at 6:51 a.m. EDT, making Saturday, June 21, the longest day of the year as the Earth makes its annual trip around the Sun.

Solstice comes from the Latin words “sol” and “sistere,” and it literally means “sun stands still.”

Space.com offers a lot of scientific geek talk about what that all means in terms of orbital tilts, and how the Sun appears to stand still before its position reverses direction.
