Youth Honeybee program at the Royal Oak Public Library

On Monday, July 7 at 4:30 pm kids ages 5-12 will meet Royal Oak beekeepers, Joan Mandell and Rich Wieske, as they present a hive detective workshop based on readings of The Case of the Vanishing Honeybees: A Scientific Mystery by Sandra Markle and The Hive Detectives: Chronicle of a Honey Bee Catastrophe by Loree Griffin Burns. Participants will observe live bees in a demonstration hive, handle beekeeping equipment, and sample honey. Priority is given to children registered for the Nonfiction Book Club.

Registration is limited to 50. Visit ropl.org or call the Youth Reference Desk at 248-246-3725 for more information.
