INTERNATIONAL ARMED FORCES DINNER SET FOR MAY 10
U.S. and Canadian veterans to gather for 54th annual dinner on May 10.

Military officers from the United States, Canada and other Allied nations will hold
their 54th annual International Armed Forces Night dinner on May 10 in Troy at the American Polish Cultural Center, Maple and Dequinder.
This year’s dinner commemorates the 60th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice. Dr. Frederic S. Phearson, Professor of Political Science and Director of
the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies at Wayne State University, will be
the guest speaker. His topic will be “Politics of the Korean War: Before, During and After.” The dinner, an annual event since 1960, is open to all active, reserve and retired military officers and their guests.
“This year’s colorful event is filled with military traditions, music and pageantry. The 126th Army Band, Michigan National Guard will perform; a Scottish piper in full regalia will pipe in the color guard; and military dress uniforms of the American and Canadian forces will be present. A four-course dinner
will be enjoyed by all,” said COL (RET) Joseph Gabelsberger, chairman of this
year’s event.
