UCS students earn top honors in MLK day art competition

Henry Ford II students honored through annual MLK Holiday Celeration of Macomb County

Two Henry Ford II students have earned top honors in a Macomb County MLK Day art competition.

Junior Allison Lewis earned first place for "Pocket Watch" and senior Kendall LeBlanc earned third place for "Surreal Timepieces" for the annual competition. Their teacher at Henry Ford II is Kristine Cooper.

Both pieces were featured at the MLK Holiday Celebration of Macomb County, sponsored by the Interfaith Center for Racial Justice (ICRJ). "Pocket Watch" was  featured on the program cover.

The students will also receive cash prizes and have their work featured in a traveling exhibit throughout the county over the next seven months.

The pieces were selected by event organizers based on their adherence to the program theme - “The Time is Always Right to Do What Is Right”- and overall quality and vision.
