Ike students published in international magazine

An international magazine is saying "Muy Bien" to a group of Eisenhower High School authors.

Six members of the school's National Spanish Honor Society were recently published in the spring and summer issues of the international organization's magazine, ¡Albricias!

Students from more than 2,000 international chapters of the organization - known as Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica - are able to submit material.

"I'm so proud of these students  - not only for all the work that went into their poems and artwork, but for what they bring to the classroom everyday," said Spanish Teacher Monica Klesko. "Some artists wait a lifetime to be published internationally, and these young people have done it before their 18th birthdays, it's such a wonderfully unique achievement

Students published in the magazine are:
  • Graduate Michelle Black for fiction piece, "Por las calles de Argentina"
  • Graduate Taylor Card for the original artwork, "Cinco de mayo"
  • Senior Francesca Cusumano for the poem, "Más para el mundo"
  • Senior Manaal Khan for an original artwork, " Las flores de Picasso"
  • Senior Eric Brunk for the poem, "Obras preciosas"
  • Senior Marissa DeLang for the poem, "La única"
