• Flock camera helped Sterling Heights track down shooting suspect, police say (macombdaily.com) — A Hall Road shooting in Sterling Heights led police from both Sterling Heights and Utica to shut eastbound lanes while they investigated and used Flock license plate cameras to track a suspect. An 18-year-old victim survived, and investigators are pursuing assault-with-intent-to-murder charges while asking anyone with information to contact detectives. 
• Coming off its best season, it's the same old expectations for Lakeview (macombdaily.com) — Utica football fans will see their Chieftains sharing the MAC White with defending district champion St. Clair Shores Lakeview, which is coming off the best season in its history. Lakeview returns several key skill players, expects another playoff push, and views Utica and other division foes as part of a tougher-than-ever league race.
