• You can own Great Lakes waterfront property through Michigan DNR land auction (freep.com subscription) — A half-acre bluff-top parcel in the Village of Shoreham, overlooking Lake Michigan, is among 101 surplus properties the Michigan DNR will auction online this August. The landlocked lot has been informally used and landscaped by adjacent owners, including unpermitted stairs down the bluff. Shoreham residents interested in securing access or clarifying use of this lakeshore should review auction details and registration steps soon.
