3 Teens Charged After Violent Macomb Co. School Fight Injures Officer
The officer was taken to a nearby hospital and listed in serious condition, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.
WARREN, MI — Three teens were arrested in connection with an assault that critically injured a police officer outside a Warren High School on Monday, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors said 18-year-old Danasia Kennedy-Johnson, 18-year-old Xavier Tayvione-Demarr Jones and a 17-year-old were outside Lincoln High School with the intentions to fight a student who on a school bus.
Two Warren Police Officers confronted the teens and tried to arrest Jones, but he resisted, causing them all to fall to the ground, according to the prosecutor's office.

The teens then assaulted the officers who were struggling to bring Jones under control, according to the prosecutor's office.

Kennedy-Johnson of Eastpointe was charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer causing injury, malicious destruction of property $200 or more but less than $1,000 (one year misdemeanor) and disorderly person (90 day misdemeanor). She was placed in jail with her next court date was scheduled for Wednesday. She faces up to 14 years in prison if convicted on the assault charges.
The 17-year-old juvenile of Eastpoine, whom officials did not identify, was charged with assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer causing injury, two counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, malicious destruction of property $200 or more but less than $1,000 (one year misdemeanor) and disturbing the peace (90 day misdemeanor). The teen was denied bond and placed in the juvenile in the Juvenile Justice Center. The teen faces up to eight years in prison if convicted on the assault charges.
Jones of Warren was charged with three counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer and Disorderly Person (90 day misdemeanor). His next court date was scheduled for Wednesday. He was placed in jail and faces up to six years in prison if convicted on the assault and resisting charge.
"Our police officers risk their lives every day to keep our community safe and violence against them is unacceptable in a civil society. Such actions will be met with the full force of the law," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
