29th Annual Christ Church Grosse Pointe Antiques Show Features Kathryn Greeley, John Gallagher. Preview Party and Silent Auction Offers Chance to Bid on a 2013 Lincoln MKZ.

Save the date: The 29th annual Christ Church Grosse Pointe Antiques Show will take place May 30-June 2. You won’t want to miss a chance to hear speakers, including renowned interior designer Kathryn Greeley and Detroit Free Press columnist John Gallagher, or a chance to bid on a 2013 Lincoln MKZ, or peruse antiques and hard-to-find collectibles.

The four-day event starts with the preview party and silent auction on Thursday, May 30, at Christ Church Grosse Pointe. The show, which has attracted more than 30,000 people over the years, will take place from May 31-June 2 at the church located at 61 Grosse Pointe Blvd. in Grosse Pointe Farms.

Proceeds from the antiques show benefit the church’s music and outreach programs.

The silent auction kicks off the four-day event on Thursday, May 30, at 7 p.m. and includes items that are only available at the preview party.

The signature item of the silent auction is a 2013 Lincoln MKZ. The Lincoln MKZ, donated by Crest Lincoln in Sterling Heights, has a two-year, 12,000-mile lease. The car is tuxedo black metallic with a charcoal leather interior. Other features include Sync with My Lincoln touch screen, Sirius satellite radio, remote start, intelligent access with push-button start, and more.

The preview party also includes a cocktail reception and dinner buffet catered by City Kitchen.

Tickets for the preview party and silent auction are $250 for Archangel, $125 for Gold Angel and $75 for Silver Angel patrons. The tickets also include three-day admission to the antiques show, and Archangel and Gold Angel patrons can attend a meet-and-greet with Kathryn Greeley. Reservations are requested for the preview party and silent auction.

Greeley will be the guest speaker at the design lecture and book signing on Friday, May 31, at 10 a.m. The owner of  Kathryn Greeley Designs and with more than 30 years of experience, Greeley has set herself apart with her classic interiors and her expert knowledge of antiques and hard-to-find collectibles. Her design philosophy of “collected, not decorated” has come from extensive training, experience and travel. Greeley is the author of The Collected Tabletop, and she writes the blog, The Collected Room.

The first two days of the show (Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June 1) offer special programs: A special behind the scenes tour with show manager Charlie Miller and Antique Evaluation Days.

The behind the scenes tour takes place on Friday, May 31 from 8:30 a.m.-9:45 a.m. and allows attendees to learn more about the world of antiques by joining an intimate continental breakfast and a tour of the show. Tickets are $15 per person, and reservations are requested.

Antique Evaluation Days take place on Friday May 31 and Saturday June 1 from 1-4 p.m. and allow attendees to have a family heirloom or other interesting find evaluated by antiques expert Charlie Miller. Cost is $10 per item, with a limit of 3 items. The items can be evaluated in person or attendees can bring photos.

A Special Alumni Evensong will take place Saturday, June 1, at 4:30 p.m. with a performance by former and current choristers from Christ Church Grosse Pointe.

Sunday, June 2, features a Festival Eucharist with the choir and orchestra performing the Mass in C major, "Credo Mass, at 10 a.m.

In addition, Free Press columnist John Gallagher will speak on Sunday. Gallagher is the author of "Revolution Detroit, Strategies for Urban Reinvention.

Three-day admission to the antique show is $10. An Angel Cafe offering refreshments also will be open during the show.
