DPW Reminds St. Clair Shores: Pick Up Your Leaves, Santa is Watching

Do your duty or you might get a bill from the city.

(Originally published on Dec. 6, 2016) ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — Yes, it is December. And yes, some flakes have fallen. But before it snowed, something else fell from the sky. Leaves. And they're still around. The St. Clair Shores Department of Public Works is reminding residents to keep them cleaned up wherever possible.

The main thing residents need to keep in mind is that leaves shouldn't be raked to the curb. If they'e piled in such a manner, crews will simply skip the street and property owners will be notified that they're in violation in the code and 48 hours to remove the leaves from the curb.

If the city has to clean up the leaves, the property owner will be billed.
