Macomb County Teacher Killed In I-94 Crash In Harper Woods: Officials
Police said the man was changing a flat tire on the freeway's shoulder Tuesday night when he was hit and killed by a vehicle.
FRASER, MI — A 23-year-old man who was killed in a Tuesday night crash on Interstate 94 in Harper Woods was a teacher for Fraser Public Schools, the district said.
Connor McMahon, from Roseville, was a social studies teacher at Fraser Public High school, where he also graduated from in 2017, officials said.
"Connor’s passing is a heartbreaking tragedy," principal Ryan Sines said. "He just finished his first year as a social studies teacher at Fraser High School and was so excited to be teaching at his alma mater."

Sines added that McMahon "was always willing to go above and beyond for his colleagues and students, and will truly be missed by all who knew him."
Officials said the district will provide mental health support services to staff and students from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday in the counseling office at the high school.

"During this difficult time, we express our sympathies to his family and friends and ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers," officials said.
A 25-year-old Clinton Township woman was arrested in connection to the deadly crash, according to Michigan State Police.
Police said McMahon was on the right shoulder of eastbound Interstate 94 near Vernier Road changing a flat tire at 10:22 p.m. when the woman crashed into him and his vehicle. McMahon was killed in the crash, police said.
The woman then ran away on foot after the crash, police said.
Harper Woods Police captured the 25-year-old woman after a brief foot chase, officials said. Police said she injured an officer and bit a state trooper during the chase.
Police requested a warrant for a blood draw, as officials pursue charges in connection to the fatal crash against the Clinton Township woman.
Officials were still investigating the crash.
