The work of the volunteers and staff at will be featured in an upcoming feature film, Let the Child Dream.
Crews from Paramore Films recently filmed in the St. Clair Shores-based charity and the Go Green Salon. After a morning of seeing clients and customers, the salon became a movie set.

The movie is about about corporate attorney, Natalie Halwick, who is struggling with the fact that her 9-year-old daughter is dying of cancer. Halwick, who lost her mother at 13, revisits her childhood of caring for her mother through flashbacks as her daughter battles the disease.
Jill Forrest, the mother of actress Delaney Forrest who plays the young cancer patient, learned of the Wigs 4 Kids mission and visited the charity. Both mother and daughter visited the charity prior to filming and became comfortable with the staff.

As part of the film, Delaney had her head shaved to simulate the loss of hair through cancer treatments and receives a wig.
The film depicts the actual work that occurs at Wigs 4 Kids. On almost a daily basis children and teens, who have lost their hair from cancer and other diseases, receive wigs and support.
More than 500 wigs have been provided since the charity was founded, and countless hours of educational classes, tutoring and support events have been held for children and their families.
Forrest initially signed up her daughter for modeling a year ago to make some money for college, and was contacted by director Miko Klubz who wanted to cast Delaney in his film.
After meetings, auditions and discussions with Delaney's teachers about her losing her hair for her part, the family agreed to the part.
"Delaney said it was 'only hair and it will grow back," said Forrest, of Warren.
Additionally, Delaney wanted to help others, according to her mother.
"I want to help little kids who are sick," Delaney said. "I want to tell them it is OK. I want to help them out."
Crews will be filming at the Detroit Medical Center this weekend.
A release date for the movie has not been set.
