• Sturgis commission vote fails to remove Mayor Perez (sturgisjournal.com) — Sturgis residents will keep Frank Perez as mayor for now after city commissioners again failed to secure enough votes to censure or remove him, despite ongoing concerns about alleged legal violations. The commission instead unanimously approved hiring outside counsel to investigate potential wrongdoing by all members and began seeking an interim city manager as Andrew Kuk’s July departure approaches.
