Brush pickup scheduled in Sturgis – WLKM Radio 95.9 FM (wlkm.com) — Sturgis residents should prepare brush now, as citywide pickup starts Monday with only one pass through each neighborhood, beginning on the north side. Branches must meet strict size limits and be placed correctly, or they’ll be left behind. Those who miss pickup or don’t qualify can still use the Fawn River Road compost site through November 24. 
2. City seeks prospects to revive health care services in Sturgis (wilcoxnewspapers.com) — Sturgis officials are actively courting medical providers to restore key health services after the June closure of Sturgis Hospital, focusing on emergency, urgent care, lab, imaging and rehab. Interim city manager Doug Terry says two CEOs have already expressed interest, but it’s unclear whether the old hospital building will be reused or how a new operation could overcome the financial pressures that doomed the former facility.
3. Following release of commission probe, Sturgis mayor Perez expresses apology, affirms commitment (wilcoxnewspapers.com) — Sturgis Mayor Frank Perez has publicly apologized after an independent investigation found he violated parts of the city charter and commission procedures, though no Open Meetings Act violations occurred. He’s pledged to complete recommended training, rebuild trust with fellow commissioners, and focus on transparency and better handling of employee concerns for residents and staff.
4. DOJ Announces $385 Million Settlement to Resolve False Claims Allegations over Abbott Laboratories Baby Formula (medlearn.com) — A federal settlement will cost Abbott Laboratories nearly $385 million over allegations that baby formula made at its Sturgis plant failed to meet safety and quality standards, posing contamination risks. Officials say roof leaks, equipment issues and inadequate testing at the Sturgis facility contributed to the problems, and they’re using the case to warn companies that infant health protections must be taken seriously.
