MOD PIZZA TO OPEN WOODHAVEN LOCATION WITH A "PAY WHAT YOU WANT" DAY

Proceeds from the fundraiser to benefit the Woodhaven Brownstown Education Foundation

TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants (TSFR), a Michigan-based family-owned restaurant group with an expansive portfolio of casual, quick service and family dining restaurants throughout the state, will open its fourth Michigan MOD Pizza restaurant on Saturday, December 12 in Woodhaven with a fundraiser benefiting local students to be held on Monday, December 14. TSFR Brand Leader of MOD Pizza Jake Schostak made the announcement.

In celebration of the brand’s continued expansion throughout the state, TSFR and MOD Pizza will host an all-day “Pay What You Want” fundraiser starting at 11 a.m. and running through dinner service at its Woodhaven restaurant, located at 23071 Allen Road. During the “Pay What You Want” day, guests will be able to pay an amount of their choosing for their meal, with all proceeds benefiting Woodhaven Brownstown Education Foundation to aid the organization in its efforts to provide independent funding for innovative and enriching programs throughout the Woodhaven and Brownstown school districts. In addition to the fundraiser, MOD Pizza will be hosting raffles throughout the day with prizes to include MOD Pizza merchandise and a chance to win a free pizza per week for a year.

“Since we launched MOD Pizza in Michigan earlier this year, our restaurants have already raised more than $15,000 and counting for local charities in the communities we serve,” said Schostak. “We are thrilled to continue spreading that goodwill and introducing more residents throughout Woodhaven and the surrounding areas to MOD Pizza with our grand opening “Pay What You Want” day fundraiser benefiting the district’s education foundation.”

Based in Seattle, MOD’s individual artisan-style pizzas are made on demand, using fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces, including MOD red sauce and MOD white sauce. As the company that launched the fast-casual pizza niche, guests can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of more than 30 fresh-featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. Each pizza is hand-cooked in an 800 degree oven in five minutes or less and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer. MOD also serves local draft beers, wine, handspun milkshakes, and house-made lemonades and iced teas.

In 2014, TSFR announced plans to bring 25 MOD Pizza restaurants to Michigan during the next five years. As part of TSFR’s aggressive growth plans for the brand, three locations are already open in Livonia, Northville and Rochester Hills and another location in Brighton is slated to open later this month for a total of five openings and 150 Michigan jobs in six months.
