The Yankee Air Museum is pleased to present this month's Historic
Presentation Night: "Flying the A-10 Warthog in the Gulf War". Our
speaker will be Lt. Col. Joe Rutkowski, USAF (Ret.). He will discuss his
experiences as an A-10 Warthog pilot during the Gulf War in 1991. The
A-10 was the iconic close-air support aircraft of Operation Desert
Storm. It destroyed more than 900 Iraqi tanks, 2,000 other military
vehicles and 1,200 artillery pieces, making it by far the most effective
aircraft of the war.
Before and after the presentation we will have a sale of military books,
photos, model kits and other items. The proceeds of this sale go
directly to support our museum exhibits.
