“Butterflies” opens on Saturday,
March 29th in Oakland Mall’s center court. The museum quality display features a
Butterfly Pavilion and Exploration Station.
This family friendly exhibit will be on display from Saturday, March 29
through Saturday, April 19 from 12 noon to 8pm Monday –Saturday and 12 noon – 5pm
on Sunday. The 16’ x 16’ Butterfly
Pavilion will house hundreds of living butterflies and guests will see the life
cycle from egg to caterpillar to pupa to butterfly first hand. Admission into the Butterfly Pavilion is $3
per person; children under eight years of age are free with a paying adult. The Exploration Station will give little hands
the opportunity to explore and create with a variety of different
activities. These will include crafts
that teach about buttery symmetry and anatomy, coloring pages and trivia
contests. Adopt-A-Butterfly kits will be
available for purchase for $9, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting
Children’s Miracle Network. Each Adopt-A-Butterfly
kit comes with 2 caterpillars and food so that you can experience the miracle
at home as they form their chrysalis and eventually become butterflies.
