Fatal fire at Troy Villa under investigation (candgnews.com) — A deadly fire at Troy Villa on Stephenson Highway claimed one life, and Troy fire and police officials are still investigating the cause. Crews battled heavy flames and a partial collapse before finding the victim, and no other injuries were reported. The Fire Department is urging residents to request free smoke alarm evaluations and installations to improve home safety.

Police seized 19 weapons from his home, with several guns still unaccounted for, and his family had repeatedly requested welfare checks over mental health concerns. He remains held on a $500,000 bond, with a court date set for September 24.
