Honest John's from Morning to Night
From breakfast to late night drinks; this place is awesome!
After a chilly morning volunteering in the D, we were on a mission to get to the right spot where we could cozy up for some breakfast and a mimosa or two. We have frequented Honest John’s, but typically for a late night drink. They have now joined our list of go to breakfast spots… especially when we are in the mood to drink!
We ordered a bunch and shared, enjoying everything. The chocolate chip pancakes were rich with their crisp buttery edges ($5.50), the smothered hash was just that… smothered potatoes with two toppings of our choice, cheese and nicely done eggs ($5.95) and the Breakfast Burrito was exploding with deliciousness ($5.95). The mimosa was “just right” with the perfect amount of OJ & Champagne to keep us around for a few. Honest John’s menu is full of great options from breakfast to lunch to dinner. They have a large vegetarian selection as well as a variety of late night stomach liners.
There are not many places you can hear DMX and country within minutes and post up from 9am-2am working your way through a plethora of drinks & meals. Honest John’s is without a doubt that place. If we didn’t have other obligations that day, I’m convinced that cozy booth would have had our gluteus imprints in it. The casual atmosphere and friendly service makes this old spot charming as ever. We were happy to hear that the new owners, brothers Dave & John Kwiatkowski, plan to keep the feel the same.
