West Bloomfield Lake Real estate Cass Lake

Cass Lake is West Bloomfield’s and Oakland County’s largest lake.  Cass Lake is about 1280 acres in size and is a public all sports Lake.  There is a DNR access boat launch at the state park.  The marina on the north side of the lake too.  So what an I tell you about the lake.  In the last year 2 lakefront condos sold for $65,000 and $125,000.  These condos do not sit right on the lake but actually across the road from the lake.

There were 19 other Cass Lake homes that sold.  None of the big luxury lakefront homes sold in 2014.  The most expensive Lakefront homes for sale on Cass Lake sold last year for $935,000.   It was 2800 square feet in size with 4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths.  It sat on a half acre of land, had a three car garage and a finished walkout basement. 

The other 18 lakefront homes ranged in price from $152,000 for a 1100 square foot canal front home to $725,000 for a 5641 square foot home.  There is a wide variety of homes on Cass Lake.  I would call it one of Oakland County’s more prestigious lakes due to the fact that it is in easy driving distance to many cities like Birmingham, Troy, Southfield.  Many lake home buyers do not want to drive an hour back and forth to work.  Cass Lake makes the drive a little shorter.

The lake actually lies in a few different cities.  West Bloomfield, Waterford, and Keego Harbor.  So depending on where you live on the lake will determine where your children go to school.  West Bloomfield schools are probably the best school system on the lake. 

Cass Lake in West Bloomfield MI usually has a sheriff boat on the lake making it a little safer.  The sheriff is looking for unsafe acts,  doing boating safety checks, and pulling over boaters and jet skiers that are breaking boating rules.  Like most of Metro Detroits local lakes Cass Lake is very busy on the weekend.  Some boaters actually say it is a little crazy out there.  So if you are looking for a quiet lake this is not the lake for you.
