Press Release
April 29th, 2013
Contender’s Tree & Lawn Specialist’s, Inc. will be working with a military family in Waterford to help them win back their lawn from a new invasive insect known as the European Crane Fly. When Jenny Wagh contacted Steve Martinko, Owner of Contender’s Tree & Lawn Specialist’s, she described the challenges of being a mother of three while her husband was serving in Afghanistan. During that time the lawn took the back seat from many priorities and un-benounced to her this insect was the real culprit behind her lawn’s destruction. Now with just 7 weeks before her daughter’s graduation party it is Contender’s goal to stop further damage and over seed the lawn in time while also contending with three dogs one of which is a rescue dog that Jenny’s husband, Ravi, had returned home with. People need to know about the European Crane Fly and the damage it can cause. We have seen a healthy thick lawn deteriorate down to bare soil within two weeks frustrating home owners from Commerce to Rochester Hills.

Thank you and with great appreciation for our Armed Forces we’re happy to help this family!
