Rotary Carnival to attract 15,000 people to Commerce, MI May 16-19

A NEW EXCITING FUN CARNIVAL COMES TO COMMERCE!


The Rotary Carnival will provide endless fun for families and friends with proceeds to benefit our shared community Michigan State Senator Mike Kowall will be conducting the Opening Ceremonies at the VIP Opening Extravaganza for the Rotary Carnival Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 7pm.


The Lakes Area Rotary Club is planning a carnival to be held on May 16-19 in cooperation with the Commerce Township DDA and Shuman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, The Biggest Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram SRT Dealer in Walled Lake and also the 2013 Overall National Dealer of the Year as determined by DealerRater.com.

The Rotary Carnival will be sure to dazzle all visitors with a unique pre-summer experience with four action packed days of limitless entertainment including 20 Midway favorite rides varying from the slow and easy to the twisty and crazy as well as fun and challenging carnival games provided by Elliott’s Amusements.


Continuing on the promise of exciting, a a beer tent with a laser light show and live entertainment by top-name local bands including 2XL, Mr. Moody, Lookin' Back ( Bob Seger Tribute Band), Toppermost (Beatles Tribute Band), and the amazing Walled Lake Western Jazz Band plus other entertainment and bands from 4pm-11pm daily. A Talent Showcase, Battle of the Bands and Dance Performances will be featured during the event.

The Rotary Carnival will take the City of Commerce and the Lakes Area by storm by offering activities throughout the day, including a fresh flower market, pony rides, a petting zoo and reptile house. Expect several family fun activities for all attendees plus endless shopping with “Made In Michigan” Vendors.


A day at the carnival also means splurging on food provided by carnival vendors and local restaurant vendors. Cotton candy, ice cream, funnel cakes and caramel apples are all a part of the day’s sensory explosion.


Speaking of food, The Lakes Area Rotary Club will be hosting a can food drive to support our shared local community Open Door Outreach Center and the Hospitality House food pantry.


Everyone is welcome to attend The Rotary Carnival that takes place May 16-19, 2013 on the vacant site next to the Commerce Library near Walmart at the end of M5 on Pontiac Trail in Commerce, MI.

ABOUT THE ROTARY CARNIVAL: The Rotary Carnival, the largest Lakes Area Rotary Club event, is to become an important annual tradition to the Lakes Area community and is anticipated to be a record attendance setting event. The Lakes Area Rotary Club is organizing The Rotary Carnival in May of 2013 to strengthen our commitment and involvement in our shared local communities, to raise funds, and to allow the club to have a greater impact in our local community and throughout the world. Several sponsorship packages are available from $10,000-$200. Vendor spaces are 12x12. Non - Food Vendor $400 (4 Days). Food Vendors $800 (4 Days). Vendors MUST be open all four days. Electricity is not available but you are welcome to bring a generator. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: More than 200 volunteers will be needed to staff the event and help with entry gates, hospitality, games, parking and security. Volunteers who are able to work four or six hour shifts on May 16, 17, 18, 19, should contact: Steve Youtz - (248)561-1973 or volunteers@rotarycarnival.net. Volunteers must submit an application and attend a pre-event meeting for training in order to provide a safe and fun environment for an expected attendance of  15,000 people.
