Competing Coaches Welcome Wyandotte Into Hockey League

Roosevelt has been well received by other teams in the Michigan Interscholastic Hockey League.

hockey players are skating against some unfamiliar territory this season, but everyone involved said it'll lead to an exciting season.

In late March, Roosevelt, along with , left the Michigan Metro Hockey League and , arguably the state’s toughest prep league.

Michigan Hockey recently spoke with some other MIHL coaches to gauge their reactions to Wyandotte and Trenton joining their ranks.

This is what some of them had to say:

“Our entire league is thrilled with the additions of Wyandotte and Trenton.  They not only have solid programs but their coaches have similar views to the other MIHL coaches from a discipline and competitive standpoint.” Coach Todd Johnson

“I think it is great for our league to add these two teams.  You cannot afford to take a night off or it will be a long night, which is great because it prepares you for the state tournament.” Coach Scott Lock

“The tough MIHL just got tougher, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.  We always want to play the best competition, so three more games against them can only help us as a team.” Coach Lou Schmidt
