Loselle Holds Court on Wyandotte Tennis Team

Joey Loselle recently defeated Gibraltar Carlson and Allen Park in No. 1 singles play and is 11-1.

Junior Joey Loselle has dominated this year for the tennis team as a No. 1 singles player.

Last week, he posted big wins against Gibraltar Carlson on Tuesday and at Allen Park on Thursday. The victories improved Loselle’s overall season record to 11-1.

Earlier in the season, he won the Livonia Stevenson Shamrock Quad tournament. To take the tournament crown, he lost only two games total in matches with No. 1 singles players from Stevenson, Dearborn High and Dearborn Heights Crestwood.

Coach Patrick Haley said one of Loselle’s most impressive wins this year came against Grosse Ile–a match played against a 2010 state champion opponent.

Aside from tennis, Loselle played baseball on Wyandotte’s junior varsity team last spring and currently carries a 3.3 grade-point average.
