Meet the Artist: Daniel Nie

What do you sell? I take the letters from a person's name, then hand paint a stylish design that I call "Coolligraphy." This design can be used as a logo for a pendant, Facebook, embroidery, tattoo, etc.

Out of all the fairs in the country, why do you choose to participate in Wyandotte’s? It is a very organized festival. Plus, the public just loves my work. They love to watch me getting their names done on the spot.
Tell us an interesting tidbit about yourself or your work. I graduated with an art degree from Wake Forest University in 1984. I was one of the first students from “Red” China to graduate from the U.S. I received a master's degree in fine arts from American University in 1987. I've studied classical art with traditional landscapes and portraits. I've worked on all mediums, including Chinese watercolors, oils and acrylics.
