What do you sell? I work in two media–glass and metals. Using the ancient technique of glass fusing, I create one-of-a-kind glass drawings, collages, bowls and jewelry. My sterling silver and bronze jewelry is created using another ancient technique–lost wax casting. My necklaces combine cast tree bark and stones, and my collection of unique rings are hand-carved in wax, then cast in sterling silver.

What is your booth number at this year's fair? 159

Out of all the fairs in the country, why do you choose to participate in Wyandotte’s? The Wyandotte Street Art Fair was recommended to me by other artists and customers as being one of the best, well-attended shows in the Detroit area. I am very happy to be included this year and am looking forward to meeting new art lovers.

Tell us an interesting tidbit about yourself or your work. I am a self-taught glass artist of 15 years. Everything I have learned about glass is the result of insatiable curiosity, endless experimenting, refining skills and allowing the glass to speak for itself. My metal jewelry is somewhat new. Although it is a different medium, it is still the same voice. I was frustrated in college when I was told I needed to focus on one thing–drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture. Glass and jewelry were not options at my school. I love working in all of those media; I couldn't choose. What I have learned about art is that it's what you say without words that is important. The media is simply the language you use.
