Roosevelt Football Will Play an Away Game at Home

With Lincoln Park using Wyandotte as its home field this season, the Bears are the visiting team tonight.

Football fans heading to tonight’s game at Stadium will have to cheer for the visiting team.

The Bears (3-0) will take on the role of the away squad and opponent Lincoln Park (0-3) will be the host.

While Lincoln Park’s bleachers are being renovated, the school is . Since tonight’s game was originally scheduled in Lincoln Park, Wyandotte is now the away team, despite playing on its home field.

should be a common site for fans tonight as the Railsplitters’ season is being documented by a camera crew for the MTV reality pilot Wait Til Next Year. Lincoln Park, which is currently 0-46, was chosen for the show due to its long losing streak, which dates back to 2006

Also out of the ordinary for home fans is that Lincoln Park personnel will handle tasks such as ticket taking, concession sales and game announcing. Roosevelt athletic director Tom DeSana said such responsibilities typically belong to the renter of the field. Wyandotte parents tend to the tasks at home games.

As for fan seating, DeSana said Wyandotte supporters will not be forced to sit on the visiting side bleachers. He also said the team will line up on its usual home sideline, as opposed to the visiting sideline.

On the field, the Bears will look a little different than normal while playing at Roosevelt Stadium. The team will be wearing its white away jerseys for tonight's game, as opposed to the dark blues typically worn at home, DeSana said.
