Viewfinder: Kids Catch on at Wyandotte Fishing Derby
The free event had children packed onto the fishing pier Saturday morning, hoping for the big catch.
Children of all ages lined the fishing pier at on Saturday for the city’s annual .
The young anglers were divided into age groups, provided live bait and told to get at it. They fished for up to two hours and then were judged to find who caught the longest fish, the smallest fish, the most number of fish and the most unusual item.
Prizes were awarded and all children went home with a T-shirt and gift bag.

The Kids Expo immediately followed the Fishing Derby and runs till 4 p.m. at Bishop Park.
The four-hour free event has a number of activities planned, including inflatables for children to bounce on, a petting farm, camel rides and an interactive bird encounter.
